Our Verdict
Quantity Discounts ‑ Selector is the better choice for merchants who need readily available discount types like BOGO, volume discounts, or bundles and want a visually appealing, theme-integrated widget. It's easier to use and requires no coding. SupaEasy: AI Functions creator is superior for Shopify Plus merchants or those with specific requirements for discounts, payment, delivery, or validation logic that fall outside the scope of standard discount apps. While SupaEasy requires a learning curve and possibly some technical expertise, it offers unparalleled customization through AI and function generation, vital for those migrating from Scripts. SupaEasy may also save money for complex scenarios which other discount apps cannot implement without expensive custom development.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Quantity Discounts ‑ Selector is significantly easier to use due to its pre-built discount templates and customizable widget. SupaEasy requires understanding Shopify Functions or effective AI prompting, making it less accessible to non-technical users.
Which app provides more customization options?
SupaEasy provides far more customization options, allowing for the creation of unique discount logic through AI and function generation. Quantity Discounts ‑ Selector is limited to customizing the appearance of the discount widget and applying predefined discount types.
Which app is better for BOGO discounts?
Quantity Discounts ‑ Selector directly supports BOGO discounts as a built-in feature, making it the simpler choice for standard Buy One Get One Free scenarios. While SupaEasy could create a BOGO function, it would require more effort.
Which app is more future-proof, considering the deprecation of Shopify Scripts?
SupaEasy is designed specifically to address the deprecation of Shopify Scripts, allowing merchants to migrate their custom script logic to Shopify Functions. Quantity Discounts ‑ Selector offers no direct solution for script migration.
Can I use both apps together?
While theoretically possible, using both apps might lead to conflicts or redundancy. It's generally advisable to choose the app that best suits your primary needs and avoids overlapping functionalities. If you need very advanced discounts beyond what Quantity Discounts offers, then SupaEasy might be a good add on. However, if Quanity Discounts offers a solution, using SupaEasy would be redundant.
