Rakuten Ichiba (JP) vs Selling Pointfor Shopify (2026)
Rakuten Ichiba (JP) and Selling Point serve distinct purposes within the Shopify ecosystem. Rakuten Ichiba (JP), presumably focused on connecting merchants to the Rakuten Ichiba marketplace in Japan, suffers from a very low rating and a small number of reviews, indicating potential issues with user satisfaction or limited adoption. On the other hand, Selling Point is explicitly designed to simplify the migration of gift cards and store credits from other platforms into Shopify. Its perfect rating and substantial review count suggest a well-received and effective solution for merchants transitioning from other systems or consolidating their operations within Shopify. Selling Point caters to merchants who have existing gift card or store credit programs on other platforms (POS systems, websites, etc.) and are looking to integrate them smoothly into their Shopify store. Its strength lies in its migration and import capabilities, specifically targeting the time and cost associated with manual data transfer or custom development. Rakuten Ichiba (JP), while the description is missing, seems designed for merchants who are seeking to expose their products to the Japanese market through Rakuten Ichiba, though its low rating and limited reviews suggest this may not be executed successfully. Therefore, merchants should be wary of Rakuten Ichiba (JP) unless other strong data points exist.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing to migrate gift cards or store credits into Shopify from another platform, Selling Point is the clear recommendation. Its high rating, substantial positive reviews, and feature set directly address this need efficiently. The app promises to streamline what is normally a time-consuming process.
Rakuten Ichiba (JP) may be potentially useful for merchants specifically targeting the Japanese market through the Rakuten Ichiba marketplace. However, due to its extremely low rating and minimal reviews, merchants should exercise extreme caution and thoroughly investigate user experiences and potential drawbacks before installing. Unless there are compelling reasons to believe Rakuten Ichiba (JP) will perform well, it is currently not recommended. Further data and testimonials are needed to validate its utility.
