Rechnungsprinter Pro > DATEV vs Tax Rex ‑ Sales Tax Automationfor Shopify (2026)
Rechnungsprinter Pro > DATEV and Tax Rex ‑ Sales Tax Automation both address financial compliance for Shopify merchants, but cater to drastically different markets and needs. Rechnungsprinter Pro > DATEV is specifically designed for merchants in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland needing legally compliant invoices and DATEV accounting integration. It automates invoice creation, handles international tax rates, and offers invoice backups. In contrast, Tax Rex is tailored for US-based Shopify businesses grappling with the complexities of US state sales tax. It automates sales tax reporting, filing, and economic nexus monitoring. The core difference lies in the geographical focus and type of tax. Rechnungsprinter Pro > DATEV focuses on invoice compliance and VAT for the DACH region, while Tax Rex addresses US state sales tax regulations. Therefore, merchants must choose based on their geographical location and primary tax-related pain points. Tax Rex also offers features to assist with new state registrations and integration for Marketplace orders.
