Recomailer Personalized Emails vs Simple Price Historyfor Shopify (2026)
Recomailer Personalized Emails and Simple Price History are both Shopify apps with perfect 5/5 ratings, but they address vastly different needs within the realm of e-commerce. Recomailer focuses on customer retention and increasing sales through personalized email marketing. It targets merchants looking to re-engage existing customers by suggesting relevant products based on their past purchases, and provides reporting to analyze the effectiveness of these emails. In contrast, Simple Price History centers on regulatory compliance and transparency, specifically for merchants selling to customers within the European Economic Area (EEA). It helps businesses adhere to EU pricing regulations by displaying a product's price history, fostering trust and loyalty through transparent pricing practices. While both apps fall under the 'Promotions - Other' category, their functionalities are mutually exclusive. Recomailer aims to actively drive sales through email campaigns, requiring merchants to manage customer data and email settings. Simple Price History, on the other hand, operates passively, automatically recording and displaying price changes to ensure compliance. The choice between the two depends entirely on whether a merchant needs automated email marketing for customer retention or needs to comply with EU pricing regulations, or perhaps both.

Our Verdict
The choice between Recomailer Personalized Emails and Simple Price History hinges on a merchant's specific needs. If a merchant's priority is driving repeat sales through targeted email campaigns and gaining insights into customer behavior, Recomailer Personalized Emails is the clear choice. Its personalized recommendations and reporting features offer a direct path to increased revenue. However, if the primary concern is complying with EU pricing regulations (Omnibus Directive, Price Indication Directive or PID) when selling to customers in the EEA, Simple Price History is the essential tool. Failing to comply with these regulations can result in fines, making Simple Price History a compliance investment.
While Recomailer Personalized Emails has significantly more reviews, it is important to note that both apps have a 5/5 rating. If a merchant finds themselves needing both services, they should explore installing both apps and evaluating them independently.
