Recurpay: Subscriptions app vs Stella Wishlistfor Shopify (2026)
Recurpay: Subscriptions app and Stella Wishlist serve fundamentally different purposes on Shopify. Recurpay is a comprehensive solution designed to unlock recurring revenue through automated subscription management. It focuses on features like flexible renewal options, customizable subscription widgets, and customer self-service portals. A major strength is its 24/7 live human support, indicating a commitment to user success and ease of integration. Recurpay is positioned for merchants actively looking to implement or improve their subscription-based business model. Stella Wishlist, on the other hand, focuses on customer loyalty through wishlist functionality, enabling customers to save products and express interest, presumably for later purchase or sharing with others. The critical difference lies in their core functionality and target audience. Recurpay caters to merchants seeking robust subscription management and recurring revenue automation. Its numerous features like upfront payments, gift subscriptions, tiered discounts, and API access highlight its comprehensive nature. Stella Wishlist, despite sharing the 'Customer loyalty' category, is a much simpler app with the primary goal of improving customer engagement and potentially driving sales through saved product lists. Given the significantly different feature sets and market positioning, a direct comparison requires understanding a merchant's specific needs: subscriptions vs. wishlists.

Our Verdict
Recurpay is the clear choice for Shopify merchants who want to implement or improve a subscription-based business model. Its comprehensive feature set, positive user reviews (400 ratings), and emphasis on customer support make it a strong contender in the subscription app category. Stella Wishlist, with only one review, might be suitable for very small businesses or those just starting to explore wishlist functionality, but lacks the proven track record and detailed feature description of Recurpay.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on your specific business needs. If you need a robust subscription management solution, Recurpay is the far superior option. If you simply want to add a wishlist feature to your store and are comfortable with a less established app, Stella Wishlist might be worth considering, but further investigation and trials would be recommended due to its lack of reviews.
