Recurpay: Subscriptions app vs SWishlist: Simple Wishlistfor Shopify (2026)
Recurpay: Subscriptions app and SWishlist: Simple Wishlist, while both categorized under 'Customer Loyalty,' address fundamentally different business needs. Recurpay focuses on subscription management and recurring revenue, targeting merchants looking to automate and scale subscription-based offerings. Its strength lies in its comprehensive feature set for managing recurring payments, customer self-service options (like skipping or rescheduling subscriptions), and 24/7 live support. SWishlist, on the other hand, aims to enhance the customer shopping experience by enabling them to create and manage wishlists. This app's primary goal is to increase customer engagement and reduce cart abandonment by providing a convenient way for shoppers to save and organize their desired products. The key difference lies in their primary function: Recurpay helps manage *existing* customers with recurring orders, while SWishlist helps attract *new* customers and encourage them to purchase. Recurpay boasts a higher number of reviews, suggesting wider adoption or a longer presence in the Shopify app store, although both apps have high ratings. Recurpay also emphasizes developer-friendliness with API access, indicating suitability for merchants requiring custom integrations. SWishlist highlights customization options, allowing merchants to tailor the wishlist's appearance to match their store's branding. The choice between them depends entirely on whether a merchant's priority is managing subscriptions or improving the shopping experience to drive initial sales.
