Redirect Hero ‑ Fix 404 links vs SA SEO JSON‑LD Schema markupfor Shopify (2026)
Redirect Hero ‑ Fix 404 links and SA SEO JSON‑LD Schema markup are both Shopify apps aimed at improving a merchant's SEO, but they address fundamentally different aspects. Redirect Hero focuses on maintaining a clean and functional storefront by automatically fixing broken links, improving the user experience and preventing SEO penalties associated with 404 errors. SA SEO JSON‑LD Schema markup, on the other hand, focuses on enhancing how search engines understand and display a store's content through structured data markup, aiming to improve rich snippet visibility and SEO performance. The primary distinction lies in their functionality: Redirect Hero deals with backend maintenance and preventing negative SEO impacts, while SA SEO JSON‑LD Schema markup is designed to proactively improve search engine rankings and visibility through schema markup. The vast disparity in ratings and review counts also suggests a significantly different level of user satisfaction and perceived reliability. Redirect Hero boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 104 reviews, indicating strong user approval, while SA SEO JSON‑LD Schema markup has a much lower 3.4/5 rating with only 4 reviews. This suggests potential concerns regarding the app's effectiveness, ease of use, or customer support, although the extremely small sample size of reviews for the latter app necessitates cautious interpretation. The promise of adding new schema markup features based on user requests could be a plus, if fulfilled promptly.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants, especially those prioritizing essential SEO hygiene and ease of use, Redirect Hero ‑ Fix 404 links appears to be the stronger choice. Its high rating and substantial number of positive reviews suggest a reliable and effective solution for preventing negative SEO impacts from broken links. Its likely ease of use makes it appealing to merchants of all technical skill levels.
SA SEO JSON‑LD Schema markup might be suitable for technically savvy merchants with specific, advanced SEO needs related to structured data. However, the low rating and limited review count raise concerns about the app's reliability and effectiveness. Before committing, merchants should carefully evaluate their understanding of schema markup and assess whether the app adequately addresses their specific needs. The promise of custom feature additions is a positive, but the response time and quality of those additions cannot be guaranteed.
