Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned about lost sales and SEO penalties due to broken links, Redirect Hero is the more relevant app. It ensures users are redirected to functional pages, maintaining a positive user experience. On the other hand, Variant Alt Text King is ideal for merchants with many product variants who want to enhance their image SEO and ensure their store meets accessibility standards like ADA and WCAG. It automates the process of generating and updating alt text for product variant images, boosting their visibility in image search and overall SEO performance. If accessibility and variant-specific image SEO are priorities, Variant Alt Text King is the better choice, while Redirect Hero is preferable for maintaining a healthy website structure and user experience by resolving 404 errors.
