ReelUp‑Shoppable Videos+ Reels vs Sold Count: Product Sale Prooffor Shopify (2026)
ReelUp and Sold Count both aim to increase sales through social proof, but they employ drastically different strategies. ReelUp focuses on leveraging user-generated video content from platforms like TikTok and Instagram to create engaging, shoppable experiences. It positions itself as a solution to improve user engagement and SEO through visually appealing video widgets that don't impact page load speed. Its target audience is merchants wanting to capitalize on the popularity of short-form video and user-generated content to increase conversions and time spent on site. Sold Count, on the other hand, centers on displaying concrete sales data and trust indicators directly on product pages. It emphasizes transparency and perceived reliability by showing sold counts, customer purchase notifications, stock levels, and promotional badges. The intended user is a merchant seeking a simple, direct way to build trust and FOMO (fear of missing out) around their products by showcasing evidence of sales and demand. Its features are simpler and focus less on multimedia content and more on direct sales data display.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing engaging visual content and leveraging the power of short-form video and user-generated content, ReelUp appears to be the stronger option. Its high rating and numerous reviews suggest user satisfaction, and its emphasis on page speed is a significant advantage. It would be particularly useful for brands with active social media presences on TikTok and Instagram. Sold Count suits merchants who want a straightforward, data-driven approach to social proof. While it has a lower rating and fewer reviews, its focus on sales data and trust badges could be very effective for building immediate customer confidence, particularly for new or lesser-known brands.
