Our Verdict
ReelUp appears to be a stronger choice for merchants primarily focused on leveraging short-form video content, specifically TikTok and Instagram Reels, for shoppable experiences. Its emphasis on performance and autoplay widgets suggests a focus on mobile-first shoppers. Wave is better suited for businesses that want to curate Instagram feeds, run hashtag campaigns to collect UGC, and provide a more static, visually-driven shopping experience with integrated product tagging. If SEO is a key concern, ReelUp's claim of increased time spent on site leading to SEO improvements might sway the decision. However, Wave's direct product tagging within images offers a more streamlined path to purchase for visual shoppers.
