Referral Candy & Affiliate vs Shopify Collabsfor Shopify (2026)
Referral Candy & Affiliate and Shopify Collabs both aim to help Shopify merchants leverage affiliate marketing, but they target different user segments and offer distinct features. Referral Candy & Affiliate positions itself as an all-in-one solution for both referral and affiliate programs, emphasizing robust reporting, custom rewards (including cash), and integration with a wider range of apps (Klaviyo, Recharge, Loop, Skio, Bold). It appears to cater to merchants wanting advanced customization and control over their affiliate and referral strategies. Our Verdict
For established businesses with complex needs and a desire for extensive customization and control over both referral and affiliate programs, Referral Candy & Affiliate is likely the better choice. Its higher rating, significantly larger review count, and broader feature set indicate greater satisfaction and a more robust system. The integration with other key Shopify apps is a definite advantage. However, for new or smaller businesses prioritizing ease of use and seamless Shopify integration, especially those just starting with affiliate marketing, Shopify Collabs presents a more accessible and potentially cost-effective option due to its "pay only when sales are driven" model. If you're already heavily invested in the Shopify ecosystem, Collabs is a natural extension.
Common Questions

Referral Candy & Affiliate offers broader integration with tools like Klaviyo, Recharge, Loop, Skio, and Bold, making it suitable if you need to connect your affiliate program with your existing marketing stack.
Which app is easier to set up and use for beginners?
Shopify Collabs is designed for simplicity and ease of use, particularly for merchants already familiar with the Shopify interface. Its built-in integration and streamlined workflows make it easier to get started.
Which app gives me more control over reward types and payouts?
Referral Candy & Affiliate provides more flexibility in reward options, including custom coupons, store credits, cash, and custom rewards, allowing you to tailor incentives to your specific audience. While Collabs allows personalized codes and links, the reward structure is less versatile.
Which app is more suitable if I only want to run an affiliate program, not a referral program?
