Referral Program ‑ Shopjar vs Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Referral Program ‑ Shopjar and Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builder both aim to enhance customer loyalty, but they approach it from fundamentally different angles. Shopjar focuses exclusively on incentivizing existing customers to refer new ones. This is a targeted approach best suited for merchants seeking organic growth through word-of-mouth marketing. Shopney, on the other hand, offers a comprehensive solution for building branded iOS and Android mobile apps. Our Verdict
For merchants solely focused on boosting customer referrals through a dedicated program, Referral Program - Shopjar could be a quick and cost-effective solution. However, if the goal is to create a comprehensive mobile experience to increase customer retention, drive sales, and reduce reliance on paid advertising, Shopney - Mobile App Builder is the stronger choice. Shopney's higher review count and broader feature set suggest a more robust and versatile platform, especially for larger businesses or those committed to a mobile-first strategy. The "one-click" setup and no-coding requirement also makes Shopney appealing to less technical merchants.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps appear to be user-friendly with claims of easy setup. Shopney boasts a "one-click" app build, which suggests a very streamlined initial configuration. Shopjar, focusing on a single feature, likely also offers a simple setup process.
Which app is better for long-term customer retention?
Shopney - Mobile App Builder is designed for long-term customer retention. By providing a dedicated mobile app, merchants can offer personalized shopping experiences, direct communication through push notifications, and potentially build a stronger brand loyalty.
Which app helps reduce marketing ad spend?
Shopney explicitly claims to reduce marketing ad spend by increasing retention and repeat sales through its mobile app. Shopjar's focus is on organic growth through referrals, which can indirectly reduce ad spend over time but it's not the primary goal.
Can both apps work together?
Potentially. A merchant could use Shopney to build a mobile app and then integrate a referral program (possibly Shopjar, or a referral program that integrates with Shopney) into that app. This would combine the benefits of a mobile app with a referral incentive program.
Does Shopney offer any insights or analytics?
Yes, Shopney mentions "Smart tools, insights and tactics to get app installs", suggesting the app provides analytics related to app performance and user behavior.
