Refersion: Affiliate Marketing vs Shortly — Affiliate Marketingfor Shopify (2026)
Refersion: Affiliate Marketing and Shortly — Affiliate Marketing both offer affiliate program solutions for Shopify merchants, but they likely target different segments. Refersion, with a 4.7 rating and a substantially higher number of reviews (488), appears to be a more established player, suggesting a broader user base and potentially a more comprehensive feature set. This could also mean it is suitable for merchants with more complex affiliate marketing needs. Shortly, on the other hand, boasts a slightly higher rating of 4.8, but with fewer reviews (109), potentially indicating a newer app, a more niche target audience, or a greater focus on ease of use for smaller operations. The key difference is the maturity and scale of the platforms. Refersion's significant review count indicates wider adoption and likely a more extensive feature set built on user feedback. This makes it a robust solution, even if it might involve a steeper learning curve. Shortly, with its higher rating despite a lower review count, may be focusing on simplicity, a streamlined experience, or exceptional customer support, making it more appealing to merchants new to affiliate marketing or those seeking a simpler solution that is quick to set up. Without feature-specific information, these conclusions are based solely on rating and review volume.

Our Verdict
If you are a larger Shopify merchant with established marketing operations and need a powerful, feature-rich affiliate marketing solution, Refersion is likely the better choice. Its maturity and larger user base suggest a more robust and battle-tested platform. However, if you're a smaller merchant or new to affiliate marketing, and prioritize ease of use and quick setup, Shortly might be more suitable. Its higher rating, despite fewer reviews, could indicate a superior user experience and customer support focused on simplicity. Ultimately, further research into specific feature sets and pricing is crucial, but based on the provided data, Refersion leans towards scalability, while Shortly emphasizes user-friendliness.
For example, If a merchant is already using enterprise-level marketing automation, Refersion will likely integrate better. If a merchant is just starting out with paid ads, then Shortly's approach might be better. However, further research on both would be necessary for a definitive decision.
