Relay: Slack Notifications vs WeSupply Returns & Exchangesfor Shopify (2026)
Relay: Slack Notifications and WeSupply Returns & Exchanges, while both listed under 'Staff notifications', serve drastically different purposes for Shopify merchants. Relay focuses on providing real-time store event notifications (sales, fulfillment, refunds, etc.) directly within Slack, aiming to improve team awareness and responsiveness. In contrast, WeSupply Returns & Exchanges, despite its categorization, likely automates and streamlines the returns and exchanges process for customers and merchants, focusing on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency within the returns workflow. The categorization likely means WeSupply generates notifications for staff regarding return statuses. Relay's strength lies in its customizable notifications and Slack integration, allowing for granular control over the information shared with different teams. Its key value proposition is improved team communication and faster reaction times to critical store events. WeSupply, on the other hand, likely offers a different feature set centered around return management. While the data provided doesn't list specifics, its function would be automating returns, generating return labels, and updating inventory levels. The value proposition there would be fewer customer service requests and more repeat business.

Our Verdict
The choice between Relay: Slack Notifications and WeSupply Returns & Exchanges hinges entirely on the merchant's needs. If the primary goal is to enhance internal communication and ensure the team is instantly aware of key store events, Relay is the clear choice. Its Slack integration and customizable notifications provide a powerful tool for staying informed. However, if the business struggles with managing returns and exchanges efficiently, and seeks to automate this process for both customers and staff, WeSupply Returns & Exchanges is the more suitable option. The apps address completely different pain points, despite their shared category listing.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, Relay seems simpler to configure initially, focusing on selecting notification channels and content. WeSupply likely requires more setup, including defining return policies and integrating with shipping providers.
Which app provides better ROI for a small store with few returns?
Relay is likely the better ROI option. As a small store, the volume of returns likely does not merit the automation capabilities of WeSupply. Instant sales notifications through slack would be of great value.
Does Relay handle returns and exchanges like WeSupply does?
No, Relay focuses solely on providing notifications, not on managing the actual returns and exchanges process. Its primary function is communication, not automation of returns.
Which app is more useful for improving customer satisfaction?
WeSupply would be more useful for improving customer satisfaction. Automated and simplified returns/exchanges management leads to faster processing times, and more happy customers. Relay does not directly interact with customers.
Which app is better for a store with a large support team?
Relay could improve communications between the support team and other staff members in a large store. The support team could be notified of issues through the app and the team would then become aware and react in real time to store events.
