Releasit Cash on Delivery COD vs Shopify Flowfor Shopify (2026)
Releasit Cash on Delivery COD and Shopify Flow, while both residing within the 'Operations' category on Shopify, cater to distinctly different needs of e-commerce merchants. Releasit COD focuses specifically on optimizing and securing Cash on Delivery (COD) transactions. It aims to reduce fraud and failed deliveries by offering features like COD fees, partial payments, WhatsApp OTP verification, and conditional COD rules. Its primary goal is to streamline the COD process and improve its profitability. Shopify Flow, on the other hand, is a broader automation platform. It enables merchants to automate various tasks across marketing, order fulfillment, inventory management, and fraud prevention. Flow’s strength lies in its versatility, allowing merchants to create custom workflows by integrating with other apps and services. While it can potentially handle some aspects of COD management as part of a larger workflow, its capabilities are not as specialized or purpose-built as those offered by Releasit COD. Therefore, merchants need to decide whether they need a dedicated COD management solution or a more general-purpose automation platform.

Our Verdict
For merchants whose business heavily depends on Cash on Delivery (COD) and who face challenges with fake orders, high RTO rates, and COD fraud, Releasit Cash on Delivery COD is the clear choice. Its features are specifically designed to address these pain points, offering a comprehensive solution to streamline and secure the COD process. The WhatsApp OTP verification, partial payments, and conditional rules provide a targeted approach to improving COD efficiency and profitability.
However, for merchants looking for a broad automation solution to handle various operational tasks across their entire e-commerce business, Shopify Flow is the better option. While it might not offer the same level of granular control over COD as Releasit COD, its ability to integrate with numerous apps and services, combined with its customizable workflow templates, makes it a powerful tool for streamlining a wide range of business processes. Shopify Flow is most valuable when COD management is only one piece of a larger puzzle of business automation.
