Required: Cart page fields vs Synctrack PayPal Tracking Syncfor Shopify (2026)
Required: Cart page fields and Synctrack PayPal Tracking Sync are both highly rated Shopify apps, but address completely different needs within the 'Orders' category. Required: Cart page fields focuses on improving data collection *before* the order is placed by allowing merchants to add custom, and optionally required, fields to the cart page. This enables gathering specific information needed for order fulfillment, such as preferred delivery dates or personalization details. Synctrack PayPal Tracking Sync, on the other hand, concentrates on streamlining the post-order process. Its core function is to automate the syncing of tracking information to PayPal (and Stripe), aiming to expedite fund disbursement and reduce disputes by increasing transparency and building customer trust. The primary difference lies in their respective focuses: pre-order data collection versus post-order payment processing. Required: Cart page fields targets merchants who need to collect specific information from customers *before* checkout to fulfill orders effectively. Synctrack addresses merchants who prioritize faster PayPal payouts, dispute reduction, and improved communication regarding order shipment status. The review count disparity suggests Synctrack addresses a more widespread pain point, although Required: Cart page fields' limited reviews also indicate it could be a niche product with dedicated users.
