Restock Alert & Waitlist ‑Mini vs Sales CountUpfor Shopify (2026)
Restock Alert & Waitlist ‑Mini and Sales CountUp are both 5-star rated Shopify apps, but cater to vastly different merchant needs despite sharing the 'Stock alerts' category. Restock Alert focuses on recovering lost sales due to out-of-stock items by enabling waitlists and back-in-stock notifications. Its primary strength lies in capturing customer interest and demand for unavailable products, allowing merchants to track demand, collect emails for targeted marketing, and ultimately boost sales when restocked. It directly addresses the problem of stock availability and notification strategies. Sales CountUp, on the other hand, is designed to showcase a brand's positive impact, sales volume, or progress towards a goal through automated counters. Sales CountUp aims to create social proof and build trust with customers by displaying metrics like sales numbers, donations, or eco-friendly contributions. While it might indirectly influence purchase decisions, it doesn't directly address stock alerts or waitlist management. The app focuses on enhancing the store's visual appeal and conveying brand values to increase customer confidence and encourage sales. The number of reviews for Sales CountUp is double that of Restock Alert & Waitlist -Mini suggesting a wider adoption and potentially longer market presence.

Our Verdict
If a merchant's primary concern is managing out-of-stock items and recapturing lost sales through back-in-stock notifications and waitlists, Restock Alert & Waitlist ‑Mini is the clear choice. Its features directly address this issue and provide tools for tracking demand and engaging with customers who want to purchase unavailable items. The Shopify Flow integration is a bonus.
Sales CountUp is better suited for merchants who want to emphasize their sales performance, positive impact, or charitable contributions to build trust and social proof. It's especially useful for brands selling eco-friendly products or running donation campaigns. While it might indirectly boost sales, it's not a solution for managing out-of-stock inventory or alerting customers about restocks.
