RetainIQ vs Ringly.io ‑ AI Phone Supportfor Shopify (2026)
RetainIQ and Ringly.io ‑ AI Phone Support are both 5-star rated Shopify apps, but they address entirely different needs within the e-commerce ecosystem. RetainIQ focuses on enhancing customer retention through hyper-personalized marketing communications, primarily via email and SMS. It positions itself as a solution for brands looking to create highly individualized user experiences, moving beyond simple segmentation. In contrast, Ringly.io ‑ AI Phone Support tackles customer support automation, using AI to handle order tracking, returns, and FAQs over the phone, specifically targeting stores with a high volume of phone inquiries. The common 'Support - Other' category is accurate but obscures their fundamentally different approaches to enhancing the customer journey.

Our Verdict
The choice between RetainIQ and Ringly.io ‑ AI Phone Support hinges entirely on the merchant's specific needs. RetainIQ is ideal for businesses seeking to boost customer lifetime value through personalized marketing campaigns. If a merchant wants to leverage data and AI to create unique customer experiences via email and SMS and is willing to invest time in learning the platform's capabilities, RetainIQ is the better choice. On the other hand, Ringly.io ‑ AI Phone Support is the clear winner for stores struggling with high phone support volume, especially regarding order tracking and returns. Its rapid setup and automated resolution capabilities provide immediate relief for overwhelmed support teams. A store receiving less than 1,000 calls a month would not benefit, making Ringly overkill.
