RetainIQ vs VoidAuthfor Shopify (2026)
RetainIQ and VoidAuth are Shopify apps addressing entirely different needs for merchants. RetainIQ focuses on customer retention and engagement through hyper-personalized email and SMS marketing. Its strength lies in leveraging diverse data sources and AI to create individualized customer experiences, aiming to increase conversion rates, customer lifetime value (CLTV), and overall revenue. This app is targeted at brands looking to significantly enhance their marketing efforts and customer relationships. In contrast, VoidAuth addresses a very specific pain point related to payment processing within Shopify Payments. It's designed to help merchants manage credit card authorizations, prevent revenue loss due to expired authorizations, and avoid additional payment processing fees by ensuring timely order fulfillment. VoidAuth is therefore geared towards merchants primarily concerned with optimizing their financial operations and improving customer service related to order cancellations and payment issues. While both apps fall under 'Support - Other' category, their functionalities and target users are vastly distinct.

Our Verdict
The choice between RetainIQ and VoidAuth depends entirely on a merchant's priorities. RetainIQ is the superior choice for businesses aiming to elevate their marketing strategy and foster deeper customer relationships through hyper-personalization. Its focus on leveraging data and AI to create individualized experiences can drive significant growth in conversion rates and customer lifetime value.
However, for merchants experiencing issues with credit card authorizations in Shopify Payments, particularly those facing cancelled orders, expiring authorizations, or additional processing fees, VoidAuth offers a targeted solution. If financial optimization and streamlined payment processing are paramount, VoidAuth, once it gains some reviews and social proof, may be the more appropriate app, despite its lack of ratings and reviews at this point.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
RetainIQ claims an easy and quick setup with dedicated support, implying a slightly more involved process. VoidAuth likely has a simpler setup due to its more focused functionality, although this isn't explicitly stated. Without user reviews, its difficult to say for certain.
Can RetainIQ help reduce payment processing fees?
Indirectly, yes. By improving customer retention and conversion rates, RetainIQ can reduce the need for frequent customer acquisition, thus reducing payment processing fees associated with new customers. VoidAuth directly addresses payment processing fees stemming from specific authorization issues, so it would be more suited for that kind of optimization.
Is VoidAuth only for Shopify Payments users?
Yes, the description explicitly states that VoidAuth is for Shopify merchants using Shopify Payments.
Which app better helps increase sales?
RetainIQ is designed to directly increase sales by improving conversion rates through personalized marketing. While VoidAuth helps retain revenue by preventing loss, it does not directly increase the *amount* of sales.
Do the apps integrate together?
There's no information provided to suggest any integration between RetainIQ and VoidAuth. They address entirely different areas of a Shopify store's operations.
