Our Verdict
If a merchant is already actively gathering reviews on Trustpilot, Trustio ‑ Trustpilot Reviews is the clear choice for seamlessly integrating and managing those reviews on their Shopify store, providing customization options and automatic syncing. The review editing and hiding features provide valuable control over the displayed social proof. However, for merchants without a strong Trustpilot presence or those who prefer a simpler, potentially native review collection system (though specifics are unclear from the Scaly app description), Review Collect by Scaly might be a better starting point. The higher number of reviews suggests a larger user base and generally positive experience. Without more detail on Review Collect by Scaly's features, Trustio appears to offer a more comprehensive solution for leveraging social proof, especially if the merchant has an existing Trustpilot strategy.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the information provided, Review Collect by Scaly likely offers a simpler setup process if it focuses primarily on native review collection. Trustio might require more initial configuration to connect to Trustpilot and customize the review display.
Which app is better for SEO?
Both apps likely contribute to SEO by displaying customer reviews, which can improve product page content and relevance. However, the app which generates more total review content on the product pages might have a slight advantage. Trustio offers the option to import and manage this information directly from Trustpilot, enabling a user to optimize their imported review content.
Can I customize the look and feel of the reviews with both apps?
Trustio clearly allows customization with its Flex and Carousel layouts, editing options, and the Micro Review Count box. It's unclear if Review Collect by Scaly provides similar customization options based on the current information.
Which app is better for collecting new reviews?
Trustio has a 'Rate us widget' to collect new review on thank you page. The details of review collection within Review Collect by Scaly are unknown, therefore Trustio is better at collecting new reviews with the available information.
What happens if Trustpilot is no longer popular in the future?
If Trustpilot's popularity declines, Trustio's value diminishes significantly, as it relies entirely on Trustpilot reviews. Review Collect by Scaly, assuming it uses a built-in review system, would remain functional regardless of external review platform trends.
