ReviewsYard — Product Reviews vs Trustio ‑ Trustpilot Reviewsfor Shopify (2026)
ReviewsYard and Trustio both aim to enhance Shopify stores with customer reviews, but they target different approaches. ReviewsYard focuses on generating and managing product reviews directly within the Shopify ecosystem. Its strength lies in its automated review request system, incentive programs, and review display options, making it suitable for merchants looking to build a comprehensive review strategy from scratch. Trustio, on the other hand, specializes in importing and showcasing existing Trustpilot reviews. Its value proposition centers around leveraging a merchant's established Trustpilot reputation to build trust and social proof on their Shopify site. The key distinction lies in the source of reviews. ReviewsYard emphasizes generating reviews directly from a merchant's Shopify customers through post-purchase emails and incentives. Trustio relies on importing reviews from Trustpilot, a third-party review platform. This difference impacts the merchant's control over the review process and the authenticity of the reviews. ReviewsYard offers greater control, while Trustio leverages the authority and reach of Trustpilot.

Our Verdict
For merchants actively building their brand and needing to collect reviews directly from customers, ReviewsYard is the stronger option. The app's focus on automated review requests, incentives, and on-site display provides a comprehensive solution for establishing a review base. Its higher number of reviews suggests a more established presence and wider adoption within the Shopify community.
However, if a merchant already has a strong presence and positive reviews on Trustpilot, Trustio offers a valuable way to seamlessly integrate that social proof into their Shopify store. This is especially true if the merchant prioritizes leveraging an established third-party review platform's credibility over building a review base from scratch. If a business isn't on Trustpilot, then this app is of limited value.
