REZ Back In Stock Notify Me vs ZeroOutfor Shopify (2026)
REZ Back In Stock Notify Me and ZeroOut address the problem of out-of-stock products in distinct ways. REZ is a comprehensive solution aimed at maximizing revenue generation from out-of-stock situations by enabling preorders, backorders, and partial payments. It focuses on capturing demand and generating revenue even before items are restocked. ZeroOut, on the other hand, takes a more minimalist approach, prioritizing a clean and efficient customer experience by hiding unavailable products and focusing on strategic back-in-stock email collection and inventory management. REZ aims to retain and convert interested customers even when products are unavailable, while ZeroOut wants to prevent customers from wasting time on unavailable products. REZ seems more suited for merchants who want to capitalize on demand for popular products and don't mind managing preorders and partial payments. It's beneficial for businesses with fluctuating stock levels and a need to forecast demand accurately. ZeroOut is better for merchants who prioritize a streamlined shopping experience and want to avoid displaying out-of-stock items, potentially improving conversion rates by showing only what's readily available. Its focus is on minimizing customer frustration and simplifying the browsing process. The difference between offering pre-orders versus simply hiding out-of-stock items, is critical to the intended merchant.

Our Verdict
For merchants who frequently deal with out-of-stock items and wish to capture sales through preorders and partial payments, REZ Back In Stock Notify Me is the stronger choice. Its analytics and preorder management features offer a comprehensive solution for managing demand and revenue. However, if a merchant prioritizes a cleaner user experience, wants to avoid the complexities of preorders, and prefers to present only available products, ZeroOut is the better option. It's a simple yet effective solution for streamlining the browsing experience and ensuring customers focus on in-stock inventory.
Ultimately, the best app depends on the merchant's business model and priorities. If generating revenue from preorders is crucial, REZ is preferable. If simplifying the shopping experience and maximizing conversion rates with available products is the goal, ZeroOut is the better fit.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
ZeroOut likely has a simpler setup due to its focus on hiding products and collecting emails. REZ, with its preorder management and partial payment features, will likely have a more complex setup process.
Which app provides better analytics?
REZ explicitly mentions analytics to track demand, forecast inventory, and measure revenue, suggesting it offers more in-depth analytics compared to ZeroOut's focus on low-stock alerts.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
ZeroOut might be more suitable for new stores, as it's simpler to implement and helps create a polished first impression by only showing available products. REZ could be added later as the business grows.
Which app is more cost-effective?
The provided information does not include pricing details, so it's impossible to definitively say which app is more cost-effective. A price comparison would be required.
What happens when a product is restocked with each app?
REZ automatically sends back-in-stock alerts to the waitlist, notifying customers. ZeroOut would presumably unhide the product, making it available for purchase on the store.
