Ricemill | Fulfilment vs Shopify Fulfillment Networkfor Shopify (2026)
Ricemill | Fulfilment and Shopify Fulfillment Network, while both operating within Shopify's 'Shipping solutions - Other' category, cater to distinctly different segments of the merchant population. Ricemill | Fulfilment is positioned as a streamlined solution primarily for Australian merchants utilizing Australia Post MyPost, eParcel & Sendle. It offers a fast setup and an easy-to-use interface, focusing on direct integration with these carriers for label printing, rate comparison, and order fulfillment within Australia. Its strength lies in its simplicity and specific carrier support, making it ideal for smaller businesses or those primarily shipping within Australia. The app boasts a 5/5 rating based on 20 reviews. Note that the user is responsible for negotiating rates with these carriers in advance. Shopify Fulfillment Network, on the other hand, is geared towards scalability and broader geographical reach. It acts as a connector to established third-party logistics (3PL) providers like Flexport, ShipBob, Shipfusion, and ShipMonk. Its primary value proposition is to simplify access to a network of warehouses and fulfillment centers, offering competitive rates and reliable 2- to 3-day delivery across a wider area. While also rated 5/5, it only has 1 review at the time of this assessment. The Network is designed for merchants seeking to outsource their fulfillment operations entirely, particularly those experiencing rapid growth or requiring distribution hubs in multiple locations. It focuses on seamless integration between the Shopify store and the chosen 3PL, reducing manual intervention and improving operational efficiency. The Network's free install and access to a broader array of fulfillment options are designed to entice a wider range of Shopify merchants. However the user is responsible for choosing the right 3PL partner and for making rate negotiations with their partner. Choosing the right one is critical to success with this model.

The existing reviews also provide more confidence in the app's stability and reliability.
However, merchants experiencing significant growth or requiring a more comprehensive, scalable fulfillment solution should consider the Shopify Fulfillment Network.
