Ricemill | Fulfilment vs ZM Expressfor Shopify (2026)
Ricemill | Fulfilment and ZM Express both aim to streamline shipping for Shopify merchants, but they target distinctly different user bases and operate with vastly different levels of established credibility. Ricemill focuses on Australian merchants who utilize Australia Post (MyPost, eParcel) and Sendle, providing direct label printing, rate comparison, and automated tracking updates. Its strength lies in its specific carrier integrations and features like split order fulfillment and flexible label layouts. The 5-star rating and 20 reviews suggest existing user satisfaction with its ease of use and functionality. ZM Express, on the other hand, positions itself as a more general courier service booking app without specifying particular couriers. ZM Express lacks any rating or reviews, raising concerns about its reliability and user experience. While it promises to simplify and accelerate fulfillment, its feature list is basic, focusing on order listing, a dashboard, and order fulfillment generally. This suggests a less feature-rich, potentially more nascent app compared to Ricemill. The choice between the two hinges on whether a merchant's needs align with Ricemill's Australia-centric carrier integrations or if a more generalized courier service booking system is desired, acknowledging the risks associated with the unproven ZM Express.

Our Verdict
For Australian merchants using Australia Post (MyPost, eParcel) or Sendle, Ricemill | Fulfilment is the clear recommendation. Its specific integrations, label printing capabilities, rate comparison feature, and positive user feedback make it a reliable and efficient choice. The numerous features and existing credibility clearly set it apart.
ZM Express, while promising, lacks the features, specific integrations, and crucial validation of reviews and ratings. It might be suitable for merchants seeking a highly generalized courier service booking solution, *if* they are willing to take on the risk associated with an unproven app. It's best to wait for user feedback and updates showcasing specific courier integrations and enhanced functionality before considering ZM Express over a more established option like Ricemill (for applicable regions).
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Ricemill claims a 5-minute setup, implying it's very easy to configure. ZM Express doesn't provide setup time estimates, making it difficult to compare, but lack of complexity may make it easier to set up.
Which app offers better rate comparison?
Ricemill explicitly offers shipping rate comparison for its supported carriers. ZM Express doesn't mention rate comparison at all.
Which app is better for merchants outside of Australia?
Ricemill is specifically tailored for Australian merchants using Australia Post and Sendle, making it unsuitable for merchants outside of Australia. ZM Express *could* be applicable outside of Australia, assuming its courier service supports international shipping; however, the lack of information makes it impossible to confirm.
Which app provides more comprehensive tracking information?
Both apps mention tracking in their feature sets, although ZM Express only does so indirectly. Ricemill is more direct by stating that it will 'automatically add the tracking number to the order and mark it as fulfilled'
If I use carriers other than Australia Post or Sendle, is Ricemill a good option?
No. Ricemill | Fulfillment is only compatible with Australia Post MyPost Business, eParcel, and Sendle. It will not work for other carriers.
