Ricemill | Fulfilment vs Zoom Parcel Servicefor Shopify (2026)
Ricemill | Fulfilment and Zoom Parcel Service represent vastly different approaches to Shopify shipping solutions. Ricemill | Fulfilment focuses on empowering merchants to manage their own shipping through integration with existing carriers like Australia Post MyPost, eParcel, and Sendle. It emphasizes ease of use, rate comparison, and label printing directly within the Shopify admin. Its target audience is likely Australian merchants seeking to optimize their shipping costs and streamline label generation with established carriers. On the other hand, Zoom Parcel Service appears to be a closed-loop system where merchants are solely reliant on Zoom's proprietary courier service. Its stated function is to push orders to Zoom's portal, essentially automating order transfer to their service. Zoom Parcel Service lacks any reviews or ratings, suggesting it's either very new or unpopular. Its features are limited to order management within the context of Zoom's service. There's no indication of rate comparison or carrier choice. It's likely geared towards merchants already using or intending to use Zoom's courier services exclusively, prioritizing automation of order submission over flexibility and cost control.

Our Verdict
Ricemill | Fulfilment is the clear choice for Australian merchants who want to compare shipping rates, print labels directly from their Shopify admin, and use existing carriers like Australia Post and Sendle. Its positive reviews and broader feature set indicate a more mature and versatile solution. It is a much better option for merchants who already have established carrier relationships.
Zoom Parcel Service is only suitable for merchants who are already using or plan to exclusively use Zoom's courier service and prioritize automated order submission above all else. The lack of reviews and limited feature set make it a riskier choice unless deeply integrated with Zoom's overall ecosystem.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Ricemill | Fulfilment claims a 5-minute setup. Zoom Parcel Service doesn't mention setup time, but its simpler feature set might imply a faster initial configuration if one is already using Zoom's courier services.
Which app offers more control over shipping costs?
Ricemill | Fulfilment explicitly allows for rate comparison across supported carriers, empowering merchants to choose the most cost-effective option. Zoom Parcel Service does not offer rate comparison, so costs are dictated by Zoom's pricing.
Which app is better for merchants outside of Australia?
Ricemill | Fulfilment specifically supports Australian carriers. Zoom Parcel Service's suitability depends on the geographical availability of its courier services. Without further details, it is impossible to determine the locations serviced by Zoom.
Can I use my own negotiated rates with either app?
Ricemill | Fulfilment supports Australia Post MyPost Business, suggesting the possibility of using negotiated rates if connected to the merchant's account. Zoom Parcel Service's integration likely uses pre-defined rates from Zoom.
Which app offers order tracking for customers?
Ricemill | Fulfilment automatically adds the tracking number to the order and marks it as fulfilled, enabling tracking. Zoom Parcel Service indicates fulfillment of orders, implying that tracking details may also be available, but this is not explicitly stated in the description.
