Rimix Product Badges & Labels vs Simple Price Historyfor Shopify (2026)
Rimix Product Badges & Labels and Simple Price History are both Shopify apps categorized under 'Promotions - Other', but they address fundamentally different needs. Rimix focuses on visual merchandising, allowing merchants to create and display badges and labels to highlight product features, promotions, or inventory status. Its target audience is merchants seeking to enhance product visibility and drive sales through visual cues. Simple Price History, on the other hand, is primarily geared towards compliance with EU pricing regulations, specifically the Omnibus Directive. It displays a product's price history as a chart, fostering trust by showcasing previous discounts. The key difference lies in their purpose: Rimix aims to improve product presentation and attract attention, while Simple Price History addresses legal requirements and enhances price transparency. Rimix emphasizes visual customization and flexibility with features like smart filters and scheduled badges, catering to a broader range of promotional strategies. Simple Price History focuses on providing a legally compliant solution for merchants selling in the EEA, with a simple, customisable price history chart. The volume of reviews significantly favors Rimix Product Badges & Labels, suggesting broader adoption and potentially greater overall satisfaction, although both apps have perfect 5/5 ratings.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing visual marketing and enhanced product presentation, Rimix Product Badges & Labels is the clear choice. Its features like unlimited badges, smart filters, and scheduling offer greater flexibility in creating compelling visual cues for shoppers. The larger number of reviews also suggests a more established and widely used application.
However, if a merchant primarily needs to comply with EU pricing regulations like the Omnibus Directive, Simple Price History is the essential tool. While it has fewer reviews, its specific focus on displaying price history and ensuring compliance makes it the ideal solution for that specific use case. If a merchant requires both badge functionality *and* EU pricing compliance, they will need to use both apps or look for a different solution with both sets of features.
