Risksumo — Prevent COD Fraud vs Yofifor Shopify (2026)
Risksumo — Prevent COD Fraud and Yofi are both Shopify apps designed to combat fraud, but they approach the problem from different angles. Risksumo focuses specifically on Cash on Delivery (COD) order fraud, offering a system to assign risk levels (Low, Medium, High) to orders based on fraud detection rules. Its strength lies in providing clear explanations for flagged orders, allowing merchants to make informed decisions about COD acceptance. Yofi, on the other hand, takes a broader approach, targeting return fraud and policy abuse in general. Yofi utilizes AI detection and telemetry to analyze customer behavior and identify suspicious activity like fake tracking or “Did Not Arrive” claims. While Risksumo empowers merchants with risk assessments at the order level, Yofi empowers CX representatives with risk scores and decision rationale at the customer level. This allows for the segmentation of good and bad actors, optimizing return policies and reducing overall revenue loss from fraudulent returns. The key difference is that Risksumo addresses COD fraud directly, while Yofi tackles a wider range of return-related abuses.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with Cash on Delivery (COD) fraud, Risksumo — Prevent COD Fraud is the more targeted solution. Its risk-level assignments and clear explanations provide direct insights into the legitimacy of COD orders. The lower number of reviews is a consideration, but its specialized focus can be a significant advantage for businesses that rely heavily on COD.
Yofi, on the other hand, is better suited for merchants struggling with broader return fraud issues. Its AI-powered analysis of customer behavior and optimization of return policies can help reduce losses from various types of return abuse. While both apps aim to reduce fraud, Yofi's comprehensive approach to return-related issues makes it a more versatile choice for merchants facing diverse fraud challenges beyond just COD.

Which app is better for a small business?
