RocketPush: WhatsApp, Web Push vs Unblocked: Push Notificationsfor Shopify (2026)
RocketPush: WhatsApp, Web Push and Unblocked: Push Notifications both aim to help Shopify merchants improve customer engagement and drive sales through push notifications. However, they differ significantly in their approach and scope. RocketPush seems to focus on a broader range of communication channels, including WhatsApp and web push notifications. While it has very few reviews, they are all positive. Unblocked: Push Notifications, on the other hand, focuses exclusively on mobile push notifications *without* the need for a native mobile app, addressing a significant pain point for many merchants. It offers advanced features like geolocation-based triggers and integration with existing marketing stacks. Its absence of reviews indicates it is possibly very new or has had issues gaining traction.

Our Verdict
Choosing between RocketPush and Unblocked depends heavily on the merchant's specific needs. RocketPush, with its combination of WhatsApp and web push, might be a good fit for merchants already actively using WhatsApp for customer communication and wanting to supplement it with web push notifications. Its perfect rating, though based on limited reviews, suggests positive early experiences. Unblocked, however, caters to a very specific niche: merchants who recognize the power of mobile push notifications but don't want to invest in developing and maintaining a full-fledged mobile app. Its geolocation and automation features offer powerful segmentation and personalization options. Due to the lack of ratings/reviews and very specific nature of Unblocked, RocketPush is the safer starting point for most merchants.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Unblocked claims a 'one-click installation,' which suggests a quicker setup process. RocketPush doesn't explicitly mention its setup process.
Which app provides broader communication channel support?
RocketPush offers both WhatsApp and web push notifications, providing broader support compared to Unblocked's focus on mobile push without an app.
Is Unblocked's claim of sending mobile push notifications without an app technically feasible?
It is technically feasible through Progressive Web App (PWA) technologies or other methods of leveraging browser-based notifications on mobile devices. However, the implementation and user experience can vary.
What if I want to send SMS notifications? Neither app mentions that capability.
Neither app in the provided information supports SMS notifications. You would need to explore other Shopify apps specifically designed for SMS marketing.
Which app is likely more expensive?
Without pricing information, it's impossible to determine definitively. Unblocked's advanced features like geolocation and automations might suggest a higher price point compared to RocketPush, but this is purely speculative based on the limited data.
