RTOx Phone Verify & Limit COD vs Yofifor Shopify (2026)
RTOx Phone Verify & Limit COD and Yofi both aim to mitigate financial losses for Shopify merchants in the fraud category, but they tackle fundamentally different aspects of fraud. RTOx focuses on reducing Return-To-Origin (RTO) losses specifically associated with Cash-on-Delivery (COD) orders. It achieves this by verifying customer phone numbers via OTP before checkout and restricting COD availability to verified users. Yofi, on the other hand, takes a broader approach, aiming to prevent return fraud and policy abuse using AI-powered detection and analysis of customer behavior. RTOx is designed for merchants particularly vulnerable to RTOs on COD orders, prioritizing immediate prevention through verification. Yofi is geared towards merchants dealing with more sophisticated return fraud schemes, focusing on identifying bad actors and optimizing return policies for long-term protection. The customer perception of these apps is vastly different, with Yofi holding a perfect 5-star rating (albeit with a small sample size of 3 reviews) and RTOx having no reviews. Therefore, the perceived risk of trying Yofi is likely much lower.

Our Verdict
For merchants struggling specifically with high RTO rates on COD orders, RTOx Phone Verify & Limit COD presents a targeted solution. The customization of the OTP popup to match brand is a nice-to-have. However, the lack of reviews is a significant risk factor. Yofi is a better choice for merchants who are grappling with broader return fraud issues and need a more sophisticated approach to identify and prevent abuse. Its AI-driven analysis provides a more comprehensive fraud defense, albeit with potentially a more complex initial setup. Given the absence of reviews for RTOx, and the positive (albeit limited) reviews for Yofi, merchants should carefully consider the risk factor and potentially opt for Yofi if they need a more established solution.
