Rubik Variant Images & Swatch vs SU CALCULATOR & CONFIGURATORfor Shopify (2026)
Rubik Variant Images & Swatch and SU CALCULATOR & CONFIGURATOR are Shopify apps catering to the 'Custom products' category, but they address vastly different needs. Rubik Variant Images & Swatch focuses on improving the visual presentation of products with multiple variants, especially color and image variations. It aims to enhance the shopping experience by displaying only the relevant images for a selected variant, which can potentially decrease return rates and improve conversion. Its strengths lie in its simplicity and direct application to visual merchandising. In contrast, SU CALCULATOR & CONFIGURATOR targets merchants selling made-to-order or custom-sized products where complex calculations and configurations are essential. It aims to facilitate the sale of products like doors, windows, and fabrics by enabling sellers to incorporate measurement inputs, calculate prices based on custom dimensions, and create product bundles. The app's strength is its advanced pricing capabilities, configuration options, and visualization tools, making it suitable for businesses needing intricate customization options beyond simple variant selections. Its limited number of reviews and lower rating, however, suggests a need for caution.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with showcasing product variants visually (e.g., clothing stores selling the same shirt in different colors and patterns) and improving the presentation of their product pages, Rubik Variant Images & Swatch is the more suitable choice.
