Section Store: Theme Sections vs Yotpo: Product Reviews Appfor Shopify (2026)
Section Store: Theme Sections and Yotpo: Product Reviews App, while both categorized under 'Store design', address fundamentally different needs of Shopify merchants. Section Store focuses on enhancing the visual and functional aspects of a store's theme by providing a library of customizable sections. It targets merchants who are dissatisfied with the limited section options of their existing themes and seek an alternative to complex page builders or expensive custom development. Yotpo, on the other hand, concentrates on building social proof and trust by collecting and displaying product reviews and ratings. It aims to help merchants increase sales by showcasing customer feedback and leveraging that feedback for marketing purposes, including integration with Google and social media. The apps cater to distinct areas of store optimization: visual appeal and functionality versus customer trust and conversion.

Our Verdict
The choice between Section Store and Yotpo depends heavily on the merchant's priorities. If a merchant is primarily concerned with the look and feel of their store and wants to easily add advanced elements without complex coding, Section Store is the better choice. It allows for easy theme customization and expansion. However, if the priority is to build trust, increase conversions through social proof, and leverage customer feedback for marketing, Yotpo is the superior option. The sheer volume of reviews Yotpo has received indicates a well-established platform with a strong user base. For stores already satisfied with their theme design but struggling with conversion rates, Yotpo offers a more direct path to improvement.
