Our Verdict
Selling Point is the clear choice for merchants prioritizing the efficient and accurate migration of gift cards and store credits to Shopify. Its focus on simplifying this specific task makes it invaluable for businesses undergoing platform transitions. Shopify Collective: Supplier is better suited for established suppliers looking to leverage the Shopify ecosystem to expand their sales channels and reach new customer segments. If your business is not focused on gift card migration but rather sales expansion, Shopify Collective is a better fit. A higher review count for Shopify Collective suggests more widespread adoption, though Selling Point has a perfect rating, which is noteworthy for its target audience.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Selling Point aims for immediate usability, focusing on simplicity in the migration process, negating the need for external developers. Collective focuses on making the sales channel management easy once you have onboarded.
Which app is more cost-effective in the long run?
It depends on the business's needs. Selling Point offers a one-time benefit related to migration. Collective offers continued revenue, but also requires an ongoing commission. Determining the app is difficult without cost information.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Yes, the apps address different functionalities and can be used independently. A merchant could use Selling Point to migrate gift cards and then use Shopify Collective to expand their sales channels after the platform migration is complete.
What if I only have a small number of gift cards to migrate?
While Selling Point is built for bulk migration, it could be used for smaller migrations if the process is complex or time-consuming. Manually migrating might also be an option, depending on the numbers.
Which app is better for increasing brand awareness?
Shopify Collective: Supplier is specifically designed to increase brand awareness by exposing your products to a wider audience through retailer partnerships. Selling Point is primarily a back-end tool and does not directly contribute to brand awareness.
