Selling Point vs Ultimate Product ID Exporterfor Shopify (2026)
Selling Point and Ultimate Product ID Exporter are both Shopify apps listed in the 'Selling online' and 'Store data importer' categories, but they address drastically different needs. Selling Point focuses on simplifying the migration of gift card and store credit data from other platforms into Shopify. It positions itself as a user-friendly alternative to manual data entry or custom development, aiming to save merchants time and money. Ultimate Product ID Exporter, on the other hand, targets merchants who need to export detailed product and variant information, including IDs and metafields, for use with third-party systems or developers. The key differentiator lies in their functionality. Selling Point streamlines gift card and store credit migration, offering features like bulk import, virtual card conversion, and promotional gift card generation. Ultimate Product ID Exporter provides advanced product data export capabilities, featuring custom templates, filtering options, and the inclusion of product IDs, variant IDs, and other detailed information. Therefore, merchants must assess their specific needs to determine which app is more suitable.

Our Verdict
Selling Point is the clear choice for merchants migrating gift card or store credit data from other platforms to Shopify. Its emphasis on ease of use and its specific features for gift card conversion and generation make it a valuable tool for this particular task. On the other hand, Ultimate Product ID Exporter is ideal for merchants who require detailed product data exports, especially when working with external systems or developers who need access to product and variant IDs. While it has a lower rating and fewer reviews, its specialized functionality caters to a very specific need that the standard Shopify admin export doesn't address. Merchants should choose the app that aligns with their core business requirement: gift card management or product data management.
