SEO Speed Image Optimizer vs Spotlight: Video Loopsfor Shopify (2026)
SEO Speed Image Optimizer and Spotlight: Video Loops, while both categorized under 'Images and Media' on Shopify, address drastically different needs for merchants in 2026. SEO Speed Image Optimizer focuses on enhancing website performance and SEO through image optimization. Its core value proposition is improving site speed and search engine ranking by automatically compressing and resizing images, optimizing alt text, and offering bulk editing capabilities. This app targets merchants seeking to improve their site's SEO and user experience through streamlined image management. In contrast, Spotlight: Video Loops concentrates on enhancing product presentation and engagement through video loops. While limited data is available about its features, its name suggests a focus on creating visually engaging shopping experiences using looping videos. Therefore, it caters to merchants aiming to boost product appeal and conversion rates by incorporating dynamic video content. The app's lower review count suggests it might be newer or have a more niche appeal than the image optimization app. Given the divergence in functionalities, the choice between the two depends heavily on the merchant's primary goals. If SEO and page load times are paramount, SEO Speed Image Optimizer is the clear choice. If the focus is on visually showcasing products through looping videos, Spotlight: Video Loops is likely more relevant.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing search engine optimization, faster website loading times, and improving overall site performance through image optimization, SEO Speed Image Optimizer is the superior choice. The app's higher rating, significantly larger review count, and features explicitly designed for image SEO make it a strong contender for merchants wanting to improve their online visibility.
On the other hand, Spotlight: Video Loops is more suitable for merchants who prioritize visually engaging product presentation and want to enhance the shopping experience through looping product videos. However, with the limited information available, it's harder to make a definitive recommendation without knowing its specific features and capabilities. Merchants interested in video should investigate further and compare it against other video-focused apps.
