Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a proven track record with a higher rating and significantly more reviews, as well as a broad set of image optimization features and reporting capabilities, 'SEO Speed Image Optimizer' is the better choice. It provides tools for resizing, alt text optimization, and bulk editing. However, if a merchant's primary concern is leveraging modern image formats like WebP, improving PageSpeed through lazy loading, and preferring a 'set and forget' automated solution, 'WEBP Image Optimizer+Speed SEO' is a strong contender, despite having fewer reviews. Businesses that are comfortable being early adopters and trust the automated approach may prefer 'WEBP Image Optimizer+Speed SEO'.
