ShareThis Share Buttons vs Simprosys Customer Match Listsfor Shopify (2026)
ShareThis Share Buttons and Simprosys Customer Match Lists, while both falling under the 'Ads' category in the Shopify app store, cater to fundamentally different needs. ShareThis Share Buttons focuses on organic content amplification through social sharing, aiming to increase brand visibility and reach by enabling customers to easily share product pages and blog posts on various social media platforms. Its core strength lies in providing customizable share buttons that integrate seamlessly with a store's design. In contrast, Simprosys Customer Match Lists is a paid advertising optimization tool, designed to enhance the effectiveness of Google, Meta, and Microsoft ad campaigns through precise customer targeting and ad spend optimization. It automates the creation and syncing of customer lists to these advertising platforms, enabling merchants to target specific customer segments and re-engage shoppers effectively. The primary divergence lies in their approach to marketing. ShareThis emphasizes organic growth and social engagement, while Simprosys prioritizes paid advertising efficiency and ROI. ShareThis targets merchants looking to leverage social media sharing for increased visibility, regardless of their existing advertising strategy. Simprosys, on the other hand, is aimed at merchants actively investing in paid advertising on Google, Meta, or Microsoft and seeking a tool to improve their targeting precision and reduce ad wastage. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on the merchant's marketing goals and priorities.

Our Verdict
If you're a merchant prioritizing organic growth and looking to leverage social sharing to amplify your content's reach, ShareThis Share Buttons might seem appealing. However, its significantly lower rating should be a major red flag. Simprosys Customer Match Lists, on the other hand, is designed for merchants who are already investing in paid advertising and want to optimize their campaigns for better ROI. Its higher rating and focus on targeted advertising make it a better choice for these merchants.
Given the disparity in ratings, unless ShareThis Share Buttons has dramatically improved its user experience and functionality by 2026, Simprosys Customer Match Lists is the safer and likely more effective choice for merchants focused on driving sales and optimizing their advertising spend. Even if a merchant desires social media sharing capabilities, better-rated and potentially more robust social sharing apps are likely available.
Common Questions
Which app is better for increasing website traffic?
ShareThis aims to increase traffic organically through social sharing. Simprosys focuses on driving traffic from targeted paid advertising campaigns. The best option depends on your marketing strategy, budget, and tolerance for risk (based on rating discrepancies).
Is either app free?
Based on the information, ShareThis is implied to be free (or at least has a free tier). Simprosys is likely a paid app due to the complexity of ad platform integration and customer list management, but pricing isn't stated.
Which app is easier to set up?
ShareThis likely has a simpler setup process as it mainly involves integrating social sharing buttons. Simprosys likely requires more technical knowledge and integration with advertising platforms.
Which app is more suitable for a new Shopify store?
If budget is a concern and organic social sharing is desired, ShareThis may seem attractive. However, the low rating is a serious concern. Therefore, a new store may be better served by focusing on other free or low-cost marketing strategies until they have a budget for paid advertising and optimization tools like Simprosys.
Do these apps compete with each other directly?
No, they target different aspects of marketing. ShareThis focuses on organic social sharing, while Simprosys focuses on optimizing paid advertising. They can be used independently or in conjunction, although the low rating of ShareThis calls its overall usefulness into question.
