Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing social media engagement and looking for an easy way to expand their content's reach, ShareThis Share Buttons might seem appealing, especially if they already have a strong social media presence. However, the low rating and small number of reviews suggest potential issues or limited effectiveness. For merchants focused on building trust, reducing cart abandonment, and enhancing customer confidence, TrustedSite ‑ Trust Badges is the stronger option. The higher rating and substantial review count indicate greater user satisfaction and effectiveness in achieving its trust-building goals. Its potential to directly impact sales makes it a valuable investment for businesses looking to establish credibility, especially newer businesses or those in industries where trust is paramount.
Given the disparity in ratings and reviews, unless a merchant has a very specific need for social sharing buttons and is willing to experiment with ShareThis despite its low score, TrustedSite is the more recommendable app for the vast majority of Shopify stores in 2026. While ShareThis could provide some benefit, the significantly higher social proof and targeted functionality of TrustedSite make it a safer and potentially more impactful choice for most merchants.
