Shield Insurance vs SureBright Product Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
Both Shield Insurance and SureBright Product Protection aim to provide Shopify merchants with shipping protection and extended warranty options to enhance customer trust and boost profits. However, they differ significantly in their approach and target audience. Shield Insurance positions itself as a solution for merchants who want to retain control over claims management and maximize profit by keeping 90% of the upsell revenue. This app appears geared towards merchants willing to handle customer service and claims in-house. SureBright Product Protection, on the other hand, provides a fully managed solution, handling financial risk, customer support, and claims management. Merchants using SureBright benefit from a revenue share model and can offer exhaustive, customizable coverage across various product categories. It's designed for merchants prioritizing a hands-off approach and a broader coverage spectrum, as well as leveraging an established support system. SureBright also emphasizes brand customization, real-time tracking, and easy setup, likely targeting merchants seeking a comprehensive and integrated solution.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants comfortable managing customer claims and aiming to maximize profit margins directly from insurance upsells, Shield Insurance may be the more suitable choice, despite the limited number of reviews at the time of this analysis. This requires a robust customer support infrastructure.
SureBright Product Protection is better suited for merchants seeking a fully managed solution, where customer service, claims processing, and financial risk are handled by the app provider. The extensive coverage options, brand customization, and 24/7 support make it a compelling choice for merchants looking to offer comprehensive protection without adding significant operational overhead. While revenue share details are unspecified, the peace of mind and reduced workload might outweigh the difference in profit margin for some merchants.
Common Questions
Which app offers higher potential profits?
