Shield Shipping Protection vs SureBright Product Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
Both Shield Shipping Protection and SureBright Product Protection aim to increase merchant revenue by offering protection plans to customers. However, their approaches differ significantly. Shield Shipping Protection allows merchants to directly offer package protection, keeping all collected fees and directly managing claims. This requires more active involvement but offers potentially higher profit margins. SureBright Product Protection, on the other hand, acts as a third-party insurance provider, offering extended warranties and shipping insurance with revenue sharing. This hands-off approach outsources risk, customer service, and claims management to SureBright, allowing merchants to focus on other aspects of their business. This comes at the cost of a portion of the potential profit.

Our Verdict
Shield Shipping Protection is best suited for merchants who are willing to actively manage their shipping protection program and handle claims directly. This approach allows for higher profit margins but requires more involvement. It's ideal for larger stores with established customer service infrastructure, or smaller shops prepared to learn claim handling. SureBright Product Protection is the better choice for merchants seeking a hands-off solution. By outsourcing the risk, customer service, and claims management, merchants can focus on other aspects of their business. While the profit margin is lower due to the revenue share, the ease of use and brand elevation from a trustworthy extended warranty provider make it a strong choice for newer stores or businesses prioritizing customer experience over maximizing immediate profits.
