Our Verdict
Based on the available information, xCotton Post Purchase Guard appears to be a more established and widely adopted app, evidenced by its substantially higher number of reviews. This suggests a level of trust and reliability that Shield Shipping Protection, with only 2 reviews, hasn't yet achieved. However, Shield's explicit focus on generating revenue by keeping collected fees and its straightforward checkout integration, specifically highlighted for Shopify Plus users, makes it an attractive option for merchants prioritizing direct revenue generation from shipping protection. If ease of implementation and potential to increase revenue while protecting margins are the top priorities and you're willing to take a chance on a newer app, Shield may be the better choice. For merchants prioritizing risk aversion and leveraging community trust, xCotton holds an edge.
