Our Verdict
For merchants needing highly customized shipping rules based on a multitude of factors like product tags, cart totals, or customer attributes, Shipping calculator: ShipMagic provides a more versatile solution. The ability to create blended rates and conditionally hide or rename rates offers granular control. However, merchants whose primary concern is accurate location-based delivery pricing, particularly those already using or considering Zapiet's Pickup + Delivery app, will find Zapiet ‑ Rates by Zip Code a more streamlined and targeted solution. While ShipMagic can handle location, Zapiet has a tighter integration and focus on postal code accuracy.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?

Does Shipping calculator: ShipMagic require coding knowledge?
It requires CCS to show shipping rates from this app. The other features don't require CCS.
Can Zapiet ‑ Rates by Zip Code handle complex product-specific shipping rates?
Zapiet ‑ Rates by Zip Code is primarily focused on location-based pricing. While tiered pricing based on weight and price is available, it lacks the extensive product-specific parameters offered by Shipping calculator: ShipMagic.
Which app offers better value for small businesses with simple shipping needs?
Zapiet ‑ Rates by Zip Code is better for small businesses with local delivery needs because it has a simpler setup and is easier to learn. It will provide what is needed at a lower price, without a complex, over-featured solution.
Which app offers better support for international stores?
Both apps mention Multi-Language Support, but ShipMagic's ability to translate shipping rates into different languages offers a slight advantage for international stores needing to present rates in the customer's preferred language. However, Zapiet's support for various postal code formats (Postcode, Eircode, etc.) indicates good global compatibility.
