Shipping Protection —Shipcheck vs Solace Shipping Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
Shipping Protection — Shipcheck and Solace Shipping Protection are both Shopify apps designed to help merchants offer shipping protection to customers, mitigating losses from damaged, lost, or stolen packages. However, they differ significantly in their approach and target audience. Shipcheck emphasizes merchant control, allowing them to keep all insurance revenue and profits, offering a customizable, tiered pricing structure based on cart value. Solace, on the other hand, operates on a revenue-sharing model and focuses on providing a seamless, hands-off solution with features like rapid response times and dedicated customer service. This makes Shipcheck more suitable for merchants who want greater control over their shipping protection program and are comfortable managing the claims process, while Solace appeals to merchants seeking a more managed and automated solution.

Our Verdict
For merchants who want complete control over their shipping protection program and are willing to handle the claims process themselves, Shipping Protection — Shipcheck is the better option. Its key selling point is retaining all revenue generated from shipping protection. However, for merchants who prefer a more hands-off approach and are comfortable sharing revenue in exchange for automated claims management and customer support, Solace Shipping Protection is the more suitable choice. The low number of reviews for Solace should also be a factor; merchants may want to wait for more user feedback before committing.
