Shipping Protection —Shipcheck vs Trustway: Package Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
Shipping Protection — Shipcheck and Trustway: Package Protection both aim to provide merchants with solutions to offset costs associated with lost, damaged, or stolen packages. Shipcheck positions itself as a merchant-controlled insurance program where the merchant keeps all revenue, targeting stores seeking complete control over their shipping protection and wanting to generate extra revenue. Trustway, on the other hand, focuses on improving customer experience and simplifying the claims process, allowing merchants to reduce customer service burdens and focus on business development. Shipcheck emphasizes customizable widgets and tiered pricing, while Trustway highlights its ability to increase AOV and profit margins by alleviating customer service demands. Both apps claim to enhance customer trust, but they do so through different mechanisms. Shipcheck provides peace of mind through a shipping protection program that's directly controlled by the merchant, including setting pricing based on cart value and full customization. Trustway aims to build trust by simplifying the claims process and offering full product refunds, leading to higher client retention and reduced strain on customer service. A key differentiator is Shipcheck's emphasis on the merchant retaining all insurance revenue versus Trustway's focus on streamlining operations. The number of reviews suggests Shipcheck has a more established user base, although Trustway has fewer reviews and offers similar package protection services.

Our Verdict
If a merchant wants complete control over their shipping protection program, including setting pricing and retaining all insurance revenue, Shipping Protection — Shipcheck is the better option. Its customizable widget and tiered pricing allow for granular control and revenue optimization. This is ideal for established stores with the capacity to manage their own program. If a merchant is primarily concerned with reducing customer service workload, streamlining claims processing, and improving customer satisfaction, Trustway: Package Protection may be more suitable. It could also work well for newer stores without resources to manage claims, since they could rely on Trustway to manage the insurance policies. Considering the number of reviews, Shipping Protection — Shipcheck seems more established.
