Shipping Protection —Shipcheck vs Yofifor Shopify (2026)
Shipping Protection — Shipcheck and Yofi, while both listed in the 'Returns and warranty' Shopify category, address fundamentally different merchant needs. Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with lost, damaged, or stolen packages and looking for a way to offset those costs while potentially generating revenue, Shipping Protection — Shipcheck is the clear choice. Its customizable widget and direct control over insurance pricing make it a compelling option. However, for merchants experiencing significant revenue loss due to fraudulent returns and policy abuse, Yofi is the more suitable solution. Its AI-powered fraud detection and risk scoring capabilities directly address this specific problem, even though its review count is much lower, the feature set speaks to a need Shipcheck doesn't address.
Common Questions
Does Shipping Protection — Shipcheck act as an insurance provider?
No, Shipping Protection — Shipcheck explicitly states that they are not an insurance provider. They provide the platform for merchants to offer their own shipping protection program.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
It depends on the store's most pressing issue. If shipping losses are a concern, Shipcheck might be beneficial. If return fraud is suspected, Yofi could be investigated for its free diagnostics.

Yes, they address different aspects of the returns/warranty process and can be used concurrently. Shipcheck protects against shipping losses, while Yofi protects against return fraud.
How easy are these apps to set up and use?
While both apps have 5-star ratings, the usability is not directly addressed in the descriptions. However, Shipcheck's description of a "fully customizable widget" and "Tiered Insurance Pricing" suggests it requires some configuration by the merchant.
