ShipRight Hide Shipping Method vs xConnectorfor Shopify (2026)
ShipRight Hide Shipping Method and xConnector are both highly-rated Shopify apps (5/5 stars), but cater to fundamentally different needs within the shipping and fulfillment process. ShipRight focuses on controlling *which* shipping options are presented to customers at checkout based on a wide range of conditional logic, including customer tags, product collections, order totals, and zip codes. This is ideal for merchants offering customized shipping experiences or those needing to restrict shipping options for specific customer segments or geographical areas. xConnector, on the other hand, concentrates on the *back-end* fulfillment process, providing tools for creating shipping labels, invoices, tracking shipments, managing returns, and even providing a point collection widget, along with a mobile app for picking and packing. The primary distinction lies in their function: ShipRight is about *presenting* tailored shipping options, while xConnector is about *executing* the fulfillment after the order is placed. ShipRight is geared towards merchants who require fine-grained control over shipping visibility and pricing. xConnector targets businesses that need to streamline their order fulfillment, create shipping labels and invoices, and efficiently manage returns, particularly those utilizing the supported local couriers and invoicing services. The point collection widget and mobile app further suggest xConnector is aimed at larger operations or those focusing on customer loyalty programs.

Our Verdict
If your primary need is to control *which* shipping options customers see based on specific criteria (customer tags, product collections, order totals, etc.), ShipRight Hide Shipping Method is the clear choice. It allows for highly customized shipping rules and can improve conversion rates by displaying only relevant options. However, if you're struggling with the *execution* of order fulfillment - creating labels, managing invoices, tracking shipments, and handling returns - then xConnector is the better fit. Its direct integrations with numerous local couriers and invoicing services, combined with its return request module and mobile app, makes it a robust solution for streamlining the fulfillment process.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on where your biggest pain points lie within your shipping and fulfillment workflow. A merchant focused on optimizing the checkout experience will find ShipRight more beneficial, while a merchant focused on operational efficiency will prefer xConnector.
Common Questions
Can ShipRight and xConnector be used together?
Potentially, but with overlap. ShipRight controls shipping option visibility, while xConnector manages post-order fulfillment. Using both could be redundant for basic shipping, but beneficial if you need extremely granular control over shipping options *and* a robust fulfillment workflow. However, review if each feature set is actually being used.
Does ShipRight create shipping labels?
No, ShipRight does not create shipping labels. It focuses on controlling the visibility of shipping options presented to customers during checkout.
Does xConnector allow for conditional shipping rates based on customer tags?
Based on the provided information, xConnector focuses on calculating and applying rates but does not explicitly mention conditional rates based on customer tags. It lists calculated rates with couriers, indicating cost calculations rather than conditional logic based on customer attributes.
Which app is better for B2B businesses?
ShipRight Hide Shipping Method seems better suited for B2B businesses that require specific shipping conditions or restrictions for wholesale clients. It allows them to show or hide shipping methods for B2B customers based on tags. xConnector could be beneficial if the B2B fulfillment processes require invoicing and label creation with integrated couriers.
Does ShipRight support international shipping rules?
The description mentions 'zip codes', 'zones', and blocking rural areas, suggesting location-based rules. Whether this extends to handling more complex international shipping scenarios depends on the granularity of these location-based controls and how easily they can be configured for different countries. Further investigation of ShipRight's zone/zip code capabilities for international use is warranted.
