Shogun ‑ A/B Testing vs Speed Kitfor Shopify (2026)
Shogun ‑ A/B Testing and Speed Kit both aim to improve Shopify merchants' businesses, but they take drastically different approaches. Shogun focuses on conversion rate optimization (CRO) through rigorous A/B testing of various elements like page design, themes, and even product prices. It empowers merchants to make data-driven decisions about their store's appearance and pricing strategies. Speed Kit, on the other hand, concentrates on improving website speed and performance. It aims to enhance user experience and SEO ranking by accelerating loading times and optimizing various website elements, including images and third-party resources. The primary difference lies in their target user. Shogun is ideal for merchants who already have decent website performance but want to fine-tune their store's design and marketing elements to maximize conversion rates. Speed Kit is geared toward merchants experiencing slow loading times and want to boost their SEO performance and user experience through enhanced website speed. Both apps have positive ratings, but Shogun has significantly more reviews, suggesting a wider adoption. Shogun helps optimize what visitors *see* and *experience* after the site loads, whereas Speed Kit ensures the site loads quickly and efficiently *before* the visitor sees anything. Both contribute to site optimization as a whole, but fulfill different aspects of the category.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to fine-tune your store's design, marketing message, and pricing to improve conversion rates through rigorous experimentation, then Shogun ‑ A/B Testing is the better choice. Its features for page, template, and price testing are designed to help you optimize every aspect of your store's presentation.
However, if your store suffers from slow loading times, impacting user experience and SEO, then Speed Kit is the more suitable solution. Its focus on accelerating dynamic content, optimizing images, and improving browser caching directly addresses website speed issues, ultimately leading to better SEO rankings and potentially higher conversion rates through an improved user experience. It helps more technical metrics before anything else.
