Shopfence – Secure Your Store vs Traffic Policefor Shopify (2026)
Shopfence – Secure Your Store and Traffic Police are both Shopify apps aimed at enhancing store security and user experience through geolocation features. Shopfence positions itself as a comprehensive security solution akin to Wordfence for Shopify, emphasizing theme scanning, bot protection, and content security alongside geolocation-based redirection and access control. Traffic Police focuses primarily on traffic filtering, content protection, and geolocation-based redirection, offering a simpler set of features. The key differences lie in Shopfence's emphasis on theme scanning and proactive threat detection, whereas Traffic Police prioritizes traffic management and basic content protection tools. Our Verdict
Traffic Police appears to be the stronger choice currently, given its positive user reviews and a track record (albeit small) of successful implementations. It is suitable for merchants primarily concerned with blocking malicious traffic, redirecting users based on location, and basic content protection. Shopfence, despite its more comprehensive feature set (particularly theme scanning for outdated code vulnerabilities), lacks any user reviews, making it a riskier option for merchants who prefer validated solutions. If a merchant prioritizes robust security analysis and proactive threat detection and is willing to be an early adopter, Shopfence might be worth considering, especially if the core promise of Wordfence-like Shopify security is appealing. However, the absence of user feedback makes a direct recommendation challenging until validated.
