Shopify Flow vs SupaEasy: AI Functions creatorfor Shopify (2026)
Shopify Flow and SupaEasy: AI Functions creator both address workflow automation on Shopify, but cater to different needs and technical expertise levels. Shopify Flow is a broad automation platform designed for various ecommerce tasks, from marketing to order fulfillment, suitable for a wide range of merchants. It emphasizes ease of use through pre-built templates and integrations with popular apps. SupaEasy, on the other hand, targets merchants specifically needing to create or migrate complex Shopify Functions, particularly those affected by the deprecation of Scripts. Its key differentiator is AI-assisted function generation, aiming to simplify the process of customizing checkout experiences without extensive coding knowledge. The primary distinction lies in their scope and focus. Shopify Flow offers a holistic approach to automating various aspects of an online store, appealing to merchants seeking general workflow improvements. SupaEasy specializes in checkout customization through Shopify Functions, primarily benefiting merchants using Shopify Plus or needing advanced features related to discounts, shipping, payments, and validation. SupaEasy's AI assistance lowers the barrier to entry for creating complex checkout logic that once required a script editor. While both apps fall under workflow automation, they address fundamentally different pain points within the Shopify ecosystem.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking broad automation across their store, Shopify Flow is the superior choice. Its diverse range of workflow templates and easy integrations provide a solid foundation for streamlining operations. However, if the primary goal is to deeply customize the checkout experience with advanced discounts, payment options, shipping rules, or validation, especially in light of script deprecation, SupaEasy: AI Functions creator is the more targeted and effective solution. Its AI-assisted function generation and script migration capabilities offer a significant advantage for merchants with specific checkout customization needs. In summary, choose Flow for general automation needs and SupaEasy for advanced checkout control.
Common Questions
What's the biggest difference between Shopify Flow and SupaEasy?
Shopify Flow is a general automation platform, while SupaEasy is specifically designed to help merchants create and migrate Shopify Functions for checkout customization, particularly in light of script deprecation.
Is SupaEasy only for Shopify Plus merchants?
No, while it addresses a need historically associated with Shopify Plus (due to the Script Editor), SupaEasy works for all Shopify plans. However, the complexity of the function customizations it enables often appeals more to merchants needing advanced features.
Can I use Shopify Flow to customize my checkout?
Shopify Flow can be integrated into the checkout process to some extent, but it's not specifically designed for in-depth checkout customization like SupaEasy. Flow provides broader, more general automation options, while SupaEasy focuses on granular checkout logic through Shopify Functions.
If I'm migrating from Scripts, which app should I choose?
SupaEasy is the clear choice if you're migrating from Shopify Scripts. It's built specifically for that purpose and offers tools to migrate and manage your existing scripts as Shopify Functions.
Which app is easier to use for someone with no coding experience?
Both apps aim to simplify automation, but Shopify Flow is likely easier for users with absolutely no coding experience. It relies more on pre-built templates. SupaEasy's AI assistant lowers the barrier to entry, but users still need some understanding of checkout logic to effectively use the generated functions.
