Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on building customer profiles, collecting data, and personalizing engagement, Shopify Forms is the more suitable option due to its native integration with the Shopify ecosystem and its focus on data collection and segmentation. It's a good fit for businesses looking to build long-term customer relationships.
However, if the primary goal is to drive immediate sales, reduce cart abandonment, and promote specific offers to targeted customer segments, Squirai: Promotion Popup is a stronger choice. Its diverse range of pop-up types and advanced targeting capabilities make it well-suited for running promotional campaigns and maximizing conversions. Merchants with frequent sales or promotions will likely find Squirai more beneficial. It is worth noting that while Squirai has a higher average rating, Shopify Forms has slightly more reviews, which could suggest greater overall adoption or a longer period of use among a broader customer base.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Shopify Forms, being a native Shopify app, likely offers a more seamless and intuitive user experience within the Shopify admin panel. Squirai might require a learning curve due to its wider range of pop-up types and customization options.
Which app is better for capturing email addresses?
Both apps can capture email addresses. Shopify Forms emphasizes integration with your customer database and tagging new customers. Squirai emphasizes using these emails for segmented promotional pop-ups.
Which app offers more advanced targeting options?
Squirai: Promotion Popup seems to provide more granular targeting options, allowing merchants to show pop-ups to specific customers based on their email list or product interactions. Shopify Forms focuses on broader segmentation based on form submissions.
Does Shopify Forms have better performance?
It is difficult to discern definitively whether Shopify Forms would have better performance; however, due to it being a native Shopify app, it should be well-optimised to work within the Shopify ecosystem. In contrast, Squirai is a third-party plugin and may have a negligible, but potentially detrimental impact on page load times.
Can I use both apps together?
Yes, you can use both apps, but careful consideration is required to prevent overlapping pop-ups and ensure a positive user experience. Shopify Forms could be used for initial lead capture, while Squirai could be used for targeted promotions to existing customers.
