Simple Discounts vs SupaEasy: AI Functions creatorfor Shopify (2026)
Simple Discounts and SupaEasy: AI Functions creator both aim to enhance discount strategies on Shopify, but they approach this goal from vastly different angles. Simple Discounts is a user-friendly app designed for merchants seeking ready-to-use discount options like mix-and-match, tiered, and time-based discounts without requiring coding expertise. Its strength lies in its simplicity and direct application of various discount types. It also touts automatic inventory updates and a seamless experience for both online and POS systems. SupaEasy, on the other hand, is geared towards merchants who require highly customized and specific functionality extending beyond just discounts. The app leverages AI to generate Shopify Functions for discounts, delivery, payment, and validation, addressing the deprecation of Scripts, particularly appealing to merchants transitioning from Script Editor or those looking for features beyond basic Shopify plans. It caters to those comfortable with a more technical approach, or who need more control over the checkout process. SupaEasy's major advantage is its flexibility, allowing for fine-grained customization through AI-assisted function creation, and compatibility with all Shopify plans. The key differentiator is the level of customization and technical expertise required. Simple Discounts offers simplicity and ease of use with pre-built discount types, while SupaEasy enables highly customized functionality requiring knowledge of Shopify Functions or reliance on its AI assistant.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing a quick and simple solution to implement common discount types like mix-and-match, tiered, or time-based discounts, Simple Discounts is the better choice. Its ease of use and automatic inventory updates make it ideal for those who want to get started quickly without needing to delve into code. Its POS compatibility is also a significant benefit for brick-and-mortar stores.
However, for merchants migrating from Scripts, or requiring very specific and advanced checkout functionality (discounts, payments, delivery, validation) beyond what's offered by standard apps, SupaEasy: AI Functions creator is the stronger option. Its AI-powered function generation and compatibility with all Shopify plans allow for a high degree of customization, but requires a deeper understanding of Shopify Functions or a willingness to learn the interface and rely on the AI.
